Split PDF

Break one PDF into single pages — each page its own file, zipped up — right in your browser.

Private by design. This tool runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your device and is never uploaded to us. How this works

Split PDF takes a single PDF and separates it into individual pages — each page saved as its own PDF and bundled into one tidy ZIP to download. It’s the quickest way to pull a multi-page document apart when you need the pages as separate files.

Like our other page tools, it runs entirely in your browser: your PDF is never uploaded, so it’s private, fast and free, with no sign-up and no watermark. If instead you want to keep just a certain range of pages, or drop a few, that’s a job for Extract Pages or Delete Pages.

How it works

1 PDF split 3 pages

Your browser opens the PDF locally, creates a fresh one-page PDF for each page, and packs them all into a ZIP archive named page-1.pdf, page-2.pdf and so on. Nothing is sent to a server, and because the original pages are reused, text stays selectable and quality is untouched.

How to Split PDF

  1. Add your PDF

Drop the file onto the page or click to choose it. One PDF at a time.

  2. Split it

Click Run Split PDF. Every page is turned into its own PDF, right on your device.

  3. Download the ZIP

Grab the ZIP archive — inside you’ll find one PDF per page, ready to use.

Need a range instead of every page?

Split PDF separates every page into its own file. If that’s not quite what you want, Ream has a tool for each job:

Split in your browser — nothing uploaded

The split happens on your own device, not on a server. Your PDF never leaves your computer or phone, there’s nothing for us to store or see, and it keeps working even if your connection drops after the page has loaded — a safe choice for anything confidential.

When to split a PDF

one PDF split page-1.pdf page-2.pdf page-3.pdf ZIP · one per page
  • Share a single page without sending the whole document.
  • Separate a scanned batch — turn a stack scanned into one PDF back into individual files.
  • Meet per-file upload rules where each page must be its own attachment.
  • Isolate a form, invoice or certificate from a longer file.

Tips

  • Only need a specific range? Use Extract Pages — no ZIP, just the pages you want.
  • Changed your mind? Put pages back together with Merge PDF.
  • Individual pages still large (scans)? Compress them afterwards.
