Merge PDF
Join several PDFs into one clean document — in your browser, so your files never leave your device.

Private by design. This tool runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your device and is never uploaded to us. How this works
Merge PDF combines two or more PDF files into a single document, in the exact order you choose. Add your files, drag them into the right sequence, and download one tidy PDF — perfect for stitching scanned pages back together, assembling a report, or bundling paperwork into one attachment.
Here’s what sets Ream apart: the whole thing happens inside your browser. Your PDFs are never uploaded to a server — they’re read, combined and saved right on your device. That means it’s genuinely private, works even after the page has loaded, and there’s no sign-up, no watermark and no limits.
How it works
When you drop files in, your browser opens each PDF locally, copies its pages in the order you set, and writes them into one brand-new PDF — then hands you the result to download. Nothing is sent over the internet, so large files merge quickly and your documents stay yours. Because it uses the original pages (not a re-render), text stays selectable and quality is untouched.
How to Merge PDF
Add your PDFs
Drop two or more PDFs onto the page, or click to choose them. Add as many as you like.
Put them in order
Drag files into the sequence you want, or use the up and down arrows. Remove any you added by mistake.
Merge & download
Click Run Merge PDF and download the combined file. It all happens on your device — nothing is uploaded.
Reorder before you merge
Order matters, so Ream lets you arrange everything before combining:
- Move files up or down with the arrows to set the final sequence.
- Remove a file you added by mistake without starting over.
- Add more at any point — the list just grows.
Need to shuffle individual pages rather than whole files? Merge first, then use Organize Pages to fine-tune the page order.
Merged in your browser — nothing uploaded
Most “free online” mergers upload your documents to their servers. Ream doesn’t. The merge runs entirely in your browser using your device’s own resources, so:
- Your files never leave your computer or phone.
- There’s nothing for us to store, read, log or leak.
- It keeps working even if your connection drops after the page loads.
That makes it a safe choice for contracts, ID scans, medical or financial documents — anything you’d rather not hand to a stranger’s server.
When to merge PDFs
- Reassemble a scan — join pages that were scanned separately into one file.
- Build a report or portfolio — combine a cover, chapters and appendices in order.
- Bundle paperwork — merge invoices, receipts or application documents into a single attachment.
- Combine exports — stitch together PDFs saved from different apps.
Tips for a clean merge
- Double-check the order before merging — it’s the one thing worth a second look.
- If the combined file is large, compress it afterwards to make it easy to email.
- Add consistent page numbers to the finished document.
- Want to combine Word files or images too? Turn them into PDFs first with Office to PDF or Images to PDF, then merge.

Frequently asked questions
How do I merge PDF files?
Add two or more PDFs, drag them into the order you want, then click Run Merge PDF and download the combined file. It takes a few seconds and happens entirely in your browser.
Can I reorder the files before merging?
Yes. Use the up and down arrows (or drag) to set the sequence, and remove any file you added by mistake, before you combine.
Do you upload my files? Is it private?
No upload. Merge PDF runs locally in your browser, so your documents never leave your device — ideal for sensitive files.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs or what size?
There’s no fixed cap on the number of files. Because merging happens on your device, very large batches depend on your device’s memory rather than a server limit.
Will merging reduce the quality?
No. Ream reuses the original pages instead of re-rendering them, so text stays selectable and image quality is untouched.
Can I merge Word documents or images too?
Convert them first — use Office to PDF for Word/Excel/PowerPoint or Images to PDF for photos and scans — then merge the PDFs together.
Does it work on Mac, Windows and phones?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, iPhone and Android, with nothing to install.
