Pages per Sheet (also called N-up) shrinks several pages down and arranges them on one sheet — two side by side, or a 2×2, 2×3 or 3×3 grid. It’s the classic way to save paper and ink when printing, to make a compact handout, or to get a thumbnail overview of a whole document at a glance.
The layout is built in your browser, so your PDF is never uploaded — free, private, with no account and no watermark. Each page is scaled to fit its cell and kept in proportion, so nothing is stretched.
How it works
Ream places your pages onto A4 sheets in the grid you choose, in reading order. Two-up uses a landscape sheet with the pages side by side (great for booklet-style reading); four, six and nine-up use a portrait grid. Every page is scaled to fill its cell while keeping its shape, with a small margin so nothing runs to the very edge.

Save paper when printing
Four-up alone cuts a 40-page document to 10 sheets. Combine it with double-sided printing and you save even more. Because the layout is baked into the PDF, it prints the same everywhere — you don’t have to find the “pages per sheet” option buried in each printer dialog. How do I put multiple pages on one PDF page?
Add the file, choose 2, 4, 6 or 9 pages per sheet, and download. Ream arranges the pages into that grid.
Which layout saves the most paper?
More pages per sheet means fewer printouts — 9-up is the most compact, 2-up the most readable. Four-up is a common balance.
Will the text still be readable?
Yes, at 2 or 4-up. At 6 or 9-up the pages get small, so it’s best for overviews or short pages.
Can I choose the order and orientation?
Pages are placed in reading order, left to right and top to bottom. 2-up uses a landscape sheet; 4, 6 and 9-up use portrait — and every page is scaled to fit its cell without being stretched.
