Private by design. This tool runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your device and is never uploaded to us. How this works
Crop PDF trims the margins off your pages so the content fills more of the space. Choose how much to remove — 5%, 10%, 15% or 20% — and Ream shaves that amount evenly from all four sides of every page. It’s ideal for scans with huge white borders, or documents you want to read edge-to-edge on a small screen.
The crop is applied as the page’s crop box, which every viewer and printer respects, and it runs in your browser — no upload, no account, no watermark.
How it works
Ream sets each page’s crop box inward by the percentage you choose, hiding the outer margins so only the content area shows. Because it adjusts the crop box rather than redrawing the page, it’s instant and lossless — the underlying content is untouched, just framed more tightly.

How much should you trim?
The right amount depends on how big your margins are. As a rough guide:
- 5% — a gentle tidy-up for normal documents.
- 10% — noticeably tighter; good for most reports.
- 15–20% — for scans and pages with very wide white borders.
Ream trims the same amount from all four sides, so the page stays centred. If you go too far, just run it again on the original with a smaller setting.
Even, non-destructive cropping
Two things worth knowing. First, the trim is even on every side — Ream removes the same percentage from top, bottom, left and right, which keeps your content centred rather than cropping one edge only. Second, it’s non-destructive: cropping sets the page’s crop box rather than deleting anything, so the margins are hidden, not erased.
When cropping helps
- Removing the wide white border around a scan.
- Making a PDF fill the screen on a phone or e-reader.
- Tightening a document for cleaner printing.
- Trimming slide exports that have big empty margins.

Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a PDF?
Add the file, choose how much to trim (5–20%), and click Run Crop PDF. You download a copy with the margins removed.
Does cropping delete the content it hides?
No. It sets the page’s crop box, so the margins are hidden rather than erased — the crop is non-destructive.
Can I crop just one side?
Not currently — Ream trims the same percentage evenly from all four sides to keep the page centred.
Will cropping lower the quality?
No. The page content isn’t re-rendered, so quality is unchanged.
Is the same amount cropped from every page?
Yes — the percentage you choose is applied to every page in the file.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser — the PDF never leaves your device.
Is it free, with no watermark?
Yes — free, no sign-up, and no watermark on your PDF.
